Internship/Fellowship Positions
NEW: Communications Fellowship | Summer/Fall 2026
Feldman Strategies is hiring a full-time fellow to join our team for the 2026 election cycle, preferably May-November 2026, in Washington, D.C.

We have worked with organizations in all 50 states and across the globe, telling compelling stories, across news platforms, that move the needle. Whether it be on CNN, MS NOW, GMA, TODAY, CBS This Morning, or in The Washington Post, The New York Times, or in key regional, local, streaming, YouTube and emerging media outlets, our specialty is breaking through the noise to ensure the stories of those we work with are heard.
Our team provides hands-on support from media training to rapid response and strategic direction, spanning digital and traditional media.
Fellow’s Role and Responsibilities
The goal of this fellowship is to provide you with a comprehensive, hands-on communications and PR experience that will result in a strong portfolio of diverse communications materials you supported and led on. There is potential for this role to lead into a full-time Communications Coordinator position offer at the completion of the fellowship.
As a Communications Fellow on our team, you will have the unique opportunity to:
- Collaborate directly with a small, but mighty team where you will actively join daily strategy meetings with the entire team.
- Work on assignments with real substance for a variety of different clients, ranging from political organizations, to labor unions, to voting rights organizations, to reproductive rights and justice organizations, and more.
- Get hands-on experience and contribute to getting results for our clients by creating targeted media press lists, learning how to pitch stories to the press, media monitoring for clients and compiling press clips, advising on social media strategy, and attending client meetings.
- Enhance your career development through mentorship from our firm’s principal, managing director, and other team members.
- Learn internal project management skills, including tracking clients’ press mentions, monitoring emerging YouTube, TikTok, and social media news shows, supporting with calendar coordination ahead of clients’ media interviews, and more.
Candidate Qualifications
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, team player to join our team for the 2026 election cycle. A strong candidate will meet the majority of the following qualifications:
- Has a passion for communications and politics, and enjoys consuming and influencing media across platforms/mediums.
- Is self-motivated and can work independently.
- Is willing to learn and ask questions.
- Has strong writing and grammar skills.
- Pays strong attention to detail.
- Is able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Thrives on delivering results and has the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid workplace: both remotely and in-person.
- Candidates should be a recent graduate, or a current senior in college.
- Preferred: Currently majoring in or holds a degree in journalism, public relations, political communications, or political science is a plus.
- Preferred: Chronically online (TikTok, YouTube, Substack, IG Reels/Live) and in tune with the news of the day. Preferred insight into current social media landscape, both political and not.
- Preferred: Has communication experience either in a firm setting, on a political or advocacy campaign, or with an organization (this includes internship experience). Political experience on a campaign or in an elected official’s office is a plus.
Compensation and Schedule
- Fellows will be paid $20/hour.
- We are looking for a candidate who can work full-time (30-40 hours/week).
- Candidates should be a recent graduate, or a current senior in college.
- Candidates must be located in the Washington, D.C. area for the duration of the fellowship and able to work from our office located in Farragut Square, Downtown D.C. (metro accessible).
- The fellowship will begin May 2026 and conclude on November 13, 2026, with the opportunity to extend.
